I like how I'm willing to pay $600 for a digital spaceship I won't even get to sit in for six months, let alone play for probably over a year, but I'm completely unwilling to pay $60 for a game I will most likely be horribly addicted to in no time flat and spend countless hours enjoying.

Chris Roberts really has warped our minds severely. LOL

The amount invested into this one game, with only the barest scraps of encouragement, has managed to eclipse several of the cars I have owned. Mind you, over 75% of the cars I've owned have been ancient rustheaps; still, it's a frightening figure.

Well, I believe in SC. I have had my faith in other developers broken so many times, that I just can't get behind them. I have faith in the Christ Roberts to deliver unto me, a 1000+ hour game.

As it stands, I will not be putting more money into any other games until after I have tried them.

I rationalize it by doing a 1:1 conversion of 1 dollar to 1 hour of gameplay. I only have a Cutlass blue in the pot, so I think I can manage to play 165 hours. I tend to do this with most games, if I play at that 1:1 conversion rate, then it's money well spent. Otherwise, stop spending money on the game.

I just tend to spend a ton of money on whatever game I'm currently addicted to. When I first got TF2, I spent over 100$ on the game(made it back with an unusual, but still). I'm doing the same thing with SC ATM.

My haul for this was just some more train assets for Train Simulator.

I got more bang from the GoG sale before it where I got that awesome Wing Commander package for $8 and some change.

Sadly, I didn't get anything, as I had already spent all my money on internet spaceships. I think this is the first steam sale where I didn't get anything.

I picked up the Mass Effect bundle during the sale as I never played the series... hopefully I will have time to actually play it now as it does not seem to be a pick up and play a few minutes and leave alone if I get called away.

I'd like to play the Mass Effect series some day. I kind of get the feeling I missed out on something by not playing those games, kind of like how I was about two years late on Skyrim and ended up loving the shit out of it.

Captain Richard you probably should play them :) I enjoyed Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. I have 3 gonna play it soon ;)

The only problem with ME as a series is getting your character to import from ME1 > ME2 > ME3. I had to redo my character portrait each time by hand because they couldn't even get the fracking hair colour right.

Actually there is a second problem, they completely changed the entire control scheme from ME1 to ME2, and made minor revisions in ME3. The new scheme is much better, but I wish they'd just done it right in the first game.

From what I played of it I really enjoy the story line and the character flow. But it is a time consuming game that hopefully I can get an hour in over the weekend on it. Plus it is a good fluffer to satisfy some space sci-fi gaming... I picked up Civilization Beyond Earth when it came out and was tired of it within 2 weeks (more like 1 week).

Oh and remember the Holidays are right around the corner and everyone needs to get someone special (me) a present. I like surfboards, starships, and firearms ;)
