So the Yak went through it's annual Conditional Inspection, got a set of refurbished propellor blades and a bunch of other little fixes and other maintenance.

Took it for a quick post inspection flight this morning and all was well, then enjoyed a 1.7 hr formation training sortie with 3 other pilots. Was so good to back in the air, really had a good couple flights.

Here it is tucked back in the YakCave in all it's glorious Russian awesomeness:

Thanks, it's a 1987 Yakovlev Yak-52, former Russian primary and aerobatic trainer.

Not in CAF but I do belong to the Red Star Pilot's Association (www.flyredstar.org).

Was down for 5 weeks due to my mechanic being out of town a couple weeks during the inspection - also was working on installing a smoke system for airshow work hopefully starting next year.

Yes it is, but it is not mine. The guy I bought the Yak from is retired SEAL and we split the hangar so he has a crash pad when in SoCal.
