So i thought i like science and space, you'll have to like it, too.
I want to start with a project i take a look at from time to time which is which is Wendelstein 7x:

It is a german research project for nuclear fusion. So whats unique about it ís, unlike other nuclear fusion reactors it is a stellarator (instead of a tokamak), which in theory could be used to for a continous fusion.
They have been facing a lot of problems, and probably going to face a lot more. For example, a very complex magnetic field to contain the hot plasma.
They needed to invent a complete welding procedure.
The first experimental campaign of Wendelstein 7-X was successfully concluded in March 2016. We will se what will happen next.
