You say indoctrinated, I say that a lot of people are looking at his actions and are forming their own opinions.
Musk has a lot of qualities, both good and bad, like most people. Unfortunately, like a certain person named Chris R., he has a big habit of overpromising, underdelivering, and playing to the crowd. Unfortunately for him, HE stepped into the political arena in a time where most of his consumer base was on the other side of the political spectrum. He also has a company that is spectacularly overvalued with a PE of 115 (for reference, both toyota and VW are around 7.4 and 4.9 respectively)
He should have been VERY aware that a significant portion of his customer base would dislike what he was doing and start looking at rival companies, while those that do favor his political stance either prefer ICE vehicles or can't afford them. While that would have been fine even 2 years ago, TODAY is a very different landscape. Lucid, Ford, BMW, Dodge, Mercedes, etc. all offer products that not only match his, but are in some cases far outclass his. His approach to hands off driving is failing (it fell for Wyllie E Coyote? Not even the roadrunner did..or at least it could distort spacetime to make it true), their next gen battery tech has failed to appear, and their cars are lacking. I test drive one and the Lucid product is FAR superior, but even that company has issues. I've also driven a few other EVs and with the exception of one, most were better overall than the Tesla. (my wife and I needed a car, so we test drove a LOT...I test drove about 10 EVs/Plug in vehicles. Tesla was number 9 overall.
When all is said and done, it is very possible that Tesla will be in a significant bind by next year, if not consumed by another company.
He is the CEO of multiple companies, EACH of which would be a normal full time job, plus bossing around a bunch of kids who have absolutely NO knowledge of the areas they are evaluating and deciding what is and what is not important. The damage he is doing is almost incalculable, not only to the US, but to the companies he runs. It is highly likely that at the end of everything, for all the showmanship he has performed, courts following the law will find that what he has done is illegal, and that legal trouble will probably also spill over onto his companies as well.
Sorry, but he is the one of the smartest idiots out there.
Look, I agree that government needs to be pared down. I agree that government workers need to be held accountable and do their work effectively and efficiently. I agree that there are some agencies that are probably redundant and that people are not being held accountable...But they could have gone about it differently and been much more effective in the long run.
Musk has no one to blame but himself
