Trying to Track Down an F7A MKII (Without Selling a Kidney)

So, I managed to snag an F7A MKII through the Executive Hangar, and let me tell you—I’m in love. It’s sleek, it’s fast, and it’s become my go-to ride for just about every gameplay loop. Seriously, I use it more than my toothpaste.

Now, I've been scouring the internet—Reddit (Star Citizen Trades), Ship-Hangar.com, Facebook groups, eBay—you name it. Prices are all over the place, ranging from "reasonable" ($270) to "I could buy a used car" ($1000).

Before I dive into the wild west of internet sales, I figured I’d check here first: Any TEST members have an F7A MKII they’re thinking about parting with? Ideally, I’d love to keep it in the org and not have to take out a second mortgage.

Let me know—my hangar (and my heart) has room for one more!

Alternatives to spending 'used car money' are 1) wait for the next round of upgrades to become available 2) run with a Superhornet MkII as it is very close in stats, and includes an extra seat and shield.

Serious, it's a good ship and anything that helps enjoy this game is a net positive. But $400+ is Large or even Capitol ship level cash with a moderate application of the CCU game.

Yeah, picked up a Perseus, Paladin, and Asgard for less then that with Doc's advice in playing the CCU game. So, spending $400+ for a ship with not much utility besides dogfights, HRTs, and limited other use cases.

Hoping the Xenothreat event comes back and I can earn a token!

I have a feeling they’ll sell the F7A Mk II again in the near future. Think CIG makes too much money from them not to.

In the meantime the Superhornet MkII is pretty darn good as well and more widely available. The Heartseeker variant in particular is no slouch!

The F8C and the F7A are probably fairly limited ships. I know the F8C has been nerfed into oblivion, but the F7A is still a pretty decent ship, and one they need for SQ42, so I don't see a nerf incoming on that.

Realistically, you will probably need to either wait for another opportunity to be awarded an upgrade to the ship via an in-game event (F7C Mk2 to F7A Mk2 upgrade), OR, you will just need to get it in-game.

That said, the SuperHornet is pretty darned closed to the F7A Mk II, so while there are some differences in performance, it's still pretty decent. This would be my suggestion unless you ABSOLUTELY need the F7A (which in reality, no one does...they just want it)

It's definitely a want not a need, that's for sure!

honest, the Super Hornet is better is ALMOST every way.

Same weapons
either the same missiles, or slightly more on the SH
3 shields on the SH vs 2 on the F7A (both MK2)
220 vs 215 m/s favoring F7A
479 to 465 m/s forward boost favoring F7A
249 vs 240 backwards boost
56/45/150 vs 52/40/140 pitch/yaw/roll
67/54/180 vs 62/48/168

2500 more health on the SH
faster reclaim on the SH.

Overall, yeah, the F7A is just a bit quicker/more maneuverable, but the SH is a lot tankier and will be more forgiving.

I would recommend the SH over the F7A to be honest... just because it's a bit better of a ship (IMO)

F7A’s better if you’re a try hard ‘Avenger One asskissing dogfight jockey’ and need maximum SCM/agility…whatever. Otherwise yeah….Super Hornet MkII is more useful.
