I'm an old eve player that's looking for the next big space sim mmo that's not a second job, minecraft in space, or space trucking in lumpy triangles. I joined Test quite a while ago but I got caught up in finishing my degree and never really bothered to do more than read the forums and watch the SOTS videos.... You know what? I really suck at introductions... Screw humanities classes! They needed to teach us how to freaking introduce ourselves without looking like a total berk... *cough* Back on topic...
I'm planning on doing a bit of everything in the game to get a feel for it. In Eve I was a trader and blackops specialist. The trader part will be easy enough in this game but I don't know what blackops is going to completely look like. Especially with the FPS element involved.
Also, neither. Riker is a much better captain in the books. Plus, he has a beard. Beards automatically make you a better captain. Just ask Captain Richard.
