So I jumped on the Sabre wagon while it was hot. I love the look of the ship and thought it would be a good buy. I now realized that was not what I really wanted.

I say all just to get to this question. Is it possible to melt the ship that is tied to my game package? At this point I don't want to lose my package that still has S42 with it as well.

Thank you for your help.

If you melt something that has been upgraded, you get the credit for the total you spent and the original package should go into your "buy back pledges" area in your hangar. In that area it will say something like "package aurora (or whatever original ship was)- upgraded." If you buy back that upgraded package, it will be available without upgrade and at same price before upgrade.

It should include everything that was included in original package (SC, 42, LTI, etc.), but you may not be able to buy it with the store credit you got from melting, unless you have "buy back tokens" which are given out infrequently. If you haven't used any, you should have a couple.

TL;DR: You should be able to do what you want, melt Sabre and buy back original game package, but you may or may not have to pony up a bit more cash to do it.

.
Buyback tokens are given every 90 days, but they do NOT stack.( so can't have more than one at a time) I don't know if the 90 days count per account or if for example every citizen get's 1 buy-back token on the 1st Janurary and so on.

the question is, did you upgrade the package and ccud the original package ship to a sabre or was the original ship in the package a sabre? If the ship was upgraded, melt the current sabre ccud package and buy back the original package ready to upgrade again. If the sabre was the original ship, upgrade that to something else of a higher cost but you cant just melt the ship and keep the components in the package only. You could also just have a look on Reddit and buy whatever your after there, works for me! :D
