First thing you need when you are looking to ram is a spaceship with an intact engine. Press the camara control button to inspect your ship, see the large rocket exhaust near the back? You need that! Alternatively you can check the top left of yout helmet HUD if you know where your engine should be. If you do not have an engine then you may wish to take your ship back to the manufacturer and ask for a refund.

Once you have an engine you need a target, press the 'next hostile target' button, this will cause your computer to scan a hostile target. If you are not happy with the target presented continue pressing the button to cycle targets or consider pressing the 'next friendly target' button. You can see your current target in the top right of the HUD. In addition an orange circle will appear over your target, or an orange arrow if your target is out of view.

Next you need to head towards your target, turn your spaceship so that the orange target circle is central in your HUD then generously apply the throttle. You should notice the distance indicator beside the target circle decrease. If it does not decease then consider usage of the boost button.

Nb. Advanced pilots can use the rotation of the target circle to tell where the target is headed. They can then manouver such that they aim for where the target *will* be rather than where the target *is*. In addition they may use the relative velocity indicator found under the target ship on the right of your HUD. This tells them how much 'catchy uppiness' they have.

About now your target may begin to use tactics such as 'evasive manoeuvres' or 'pew-pew lazors'. DO NOT PANIC! At this point all you need to do is focus on reducing the distance between your two ships. Reinforce your fore and aft shields if necessary, if not direct more power to your engines. Once the distance indicator reaches zero CONGRATULATIONS you have successfully rammed!

Nb. Advanced users may want to turn off thier flight computer once a ram is guaranteed, then use thrusters to stay on target. At the last second they may turn their ship to protect the cockpit and engine, with skill an advanced user can ram multiple shipd before losing thier own.

Thank you for attending ramming 101. Remember friends don't let friends fly sober!
