i'm not sure i understand why you would add a poll if you would not understand the reasoning for the "no" but i'll give it a shot
talking about boardgames on internet that you play at home...
Because even if I don't understand it, I respect your opinion. That's actually quite a reasonable argument.
then again, things like 40k and battletech are rarely played at home. They're competitive, often in large tournaments with clubs and cash prizes for winners.
40k is especially relevant, because you have to purchase, build and paint your units from kits. People can discuss tactics, army lists for different point settings, and expose others to a fun game. That's really the most important reason why we would do that. Most of the posts in the "other games" sections are actually asking to see if the rest of the community plays the games, rather than organizing or discussing tactics. It would be no different with this. A random clicker can be exposed to the basics, and hopefully try it out, and members of the TEST community can find others with a similar interest, then move to contact them through other mediums regarding 40k.
In essence, it's just another way for people inside the TEST community to get together. I could go onto one of the random 40k forums, but I would have no relation and probably never meet, go on team speak with or interact with the people on there. It would be faceless typing as the only way to work with them. In the TEST community (which by the way is a cross-game community, there are tons of different games TEST has an organized (and that term is used loosely :p)presence in) I will be frequently interacting with all of them. This would allow us to update and keep up correspondence, thereby improving each other's experience by providing long-term input on our ideas regarding the game. You couldn't do that with other communities.
