anyone else had the "no weapon spawning" in Conquest yesterday?
It was hilarious, a bunch of us running around each other without anything. I did get a few kills inside a tank though.

The question is, will the have the option to use chemical warfare? WW1 was such a terrible war in that way, I don't know why they would make a game of it... or maybe they will just make it historically inaccurate.

I've seen green gas clounds being deployed during a few matches. I think it's one of the "super soldier" abilities.
One was a tank soldier with a big machine gun (that I picked up, and managed to get like 6-7 kills), the other is flamethrower, then the "Tank Hunter" the one with the HUGE sniper rifle, and probably the gas?

The green gas you see is the gas grenades. Not a special ability or elite pickup. Gas grenades are pretty effective. Avoid or throw on that mask! Gas gas gas!
I've been playing it, and I'm impressed. I think they have a good mix of WW1 equipment and the battlefield gameplay. Obviously it isn't very realistic, but in terms of a Battlefield game, enough is new/changed that it doesn't feel exactly like Battlefield 4.
As for the chemical warfare, so far in the beta (on only one map and not all equipment can be unlocked), there are gas grenades, but everyone has a gas mask and the gas slowly does damage if you don't put the mask on. But its obvious when/where's there's gas, and its easy to put the mask on. The tradeoff is when you have your mask on, you can't look down your sights. So throwing gas still has an effect on the enemy players.

My main problem when they announced BF1, is that WW1 realism is very very boring. Mostly bolt-action rifles, very few vehicles, hiding in a trench all day, etc.
