So a friend and I were discussing our (to date) purchased ships and I was surprised to hear that he had pulled the trigger on picking up a space dorito (read: RSI Polaris) which I hadn't been informed about. His response gave me an intriguing idea.

He raises a good point... the Sun has been awful bright as of late...

The rumor is that the sun is taunting us and not believing our promises of blotting it out. We need to do something about it and not allow this insult to continue! Imagine what would happen if that rumor would get to other suns

We do seem to have a fair few of these so if we cannot do it no one can! Pool tables that is.

As for the sun in the shade well its just positioning! and needing a bright enough light (not sure a torch from quicky mart will work) how bright does a light have to be to cause a shadow to be visible on something so bright as a star? We could always try by blowing up a VAN and even then if it fails at least the VAN is gone.
