I remember saying something about SC ships having advanced enough engines to be able to negate the planets rotation very quickly, and thereby solving the problem...

We do, but it was a while ago and anything that helps to remind us that we need to practice our sun-diving skills and not take them for granted is worth repeating :)

We should practice anyway so we are prepared for when Sun-Diving is included in the Olympics.
The Summer Olympics, I believe.
