I won a GTX 970 at GAME 24

So yea. I got lucky enough to get into GAME 24 tonight. I had no idea what to expect but it was an amazing event. Free Booze, Free Food, Live DJ, Gaming rigs sporting the new GTX 980's EVERYWHERE! It was great. Anyway. To my surprise they held two raffles. They were giving away GTX 980's, 970's, Shield Tablet and controllers, and new G-Sync 4k monitors.

Long story short. I won a brand new MSI GTX 970! I'm super excited. Not to mention on the way out the door they handed us all game codes for The Crew and Far Cry 4.

Nvidia. You spoil me. I'll be loyal to the brand forever now. What a great time. I went to the event for free and came away with over $500 in gear and games! Great time!

i just got back from microcenter with a 980. i'm freaking out over here. can't install it for 5 more hours. but in my head i'm already playing AC and have been for hours.

Nice man! Congrats on the 980! I'm almost thinking about selling the 970 and buying a 980. If I do that I'll have to sell my GTX 770 also. Too many graphics cards. haha.

lol, good problem to have. i was going to get a 970 but at the last minute i bought one of the last 980s they had. it didn't take much to talk me up, the guy grabbed the wrong box and handed it to me and i was like, well, okay, if you insist.

The price to the performance ratio for the GTX 970 and 980 look just ridiculous. Looking at some early benchmarking, and depending on where you look, the 970 is comfortably matching or beating the 780ti. At about half the price! Probably gonna pick when up when some non-reference models are available, hopefully by this winter.

no problems, running wonderfully. Looks great, no lag in the hangar and everything is so smooth i'm getting a headache. probably because my eyes are like this OO
