Yes. Some of the more costly ships I own are such "gifts".
Even if you need a CCU / store credit, ask someone in the US/Canada to buy you a ship of that value, then have it gifted and melted.

yeah VAT is a bitch...
that and import taxes. The post office take 20 dollars just in processing fee, and then they also take whatever import tax is owed...

but yeah, it was drunkenteddy who gave me a great deal.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Coming from Denmark, I'd love to skip some of those VAT percentages. :P
