This is known as ' Get the fuck off my lawn' and relies on the ability to resupply a ship via EVA.

Eclipse squadron encounters enemy convoy, engages from stealth, dropping an alpha of 4 torps into their cargo shipping, keeping up a reasonable hail of torpedoes from random attack angles, returning to caterpillar to resupply when required.

Keep the torp hail up until the targets realise their best bet at this point is just to leave the cargo as losses grow, at which point that cat arrives and scoops everything up.
Vanguard sentinel ( yes i picked the wrong one) covers cat & EMP's the fuck out of anyone turning up to put a stop to things, giving the Eclipse wing time enough to return and put down the interlopers.

Additionally, noticing a lack of hurricane use in fleets.
I think they'd possibly make quite good short range escorts due to the turret, or very nice rapid assault ships to go in after an eclipse wing.
Thoughts?

What would stop your targets from fleeing? Seems to me either their computers are down or they are not.

I am still wondering what to do with the Hurricanes. If you compare then to the Superhornet, it is hard to say it will be better for much of anything. It cannot take a hit like the Hornet. If you really had a use for the 4 S3 weapons in the turret, you would have found its mission. I would never use the Broadswords, but Panthers would be great there, as would Pyros. If they would tell us what they planned with the Distortion Cannons, that might form a plan. The Suckerpunch was originally an S1 weapon but they are refiguring it and it is missing from the DPS calculator for a long time now. If it comes back in the form of an S3, the Hurricane could be significantly better at disabling than maybe any other bird save the Sabre. If it could mount Void Armor and had the reactor to power up 6 Distortion Canons, that could prove to be its niche.

Right now I can't see a reason to buy a Hurricane instead of the Hornet.

Once the cargo ship's spilled all its goodies out into space, why would we want them hanging about? Additionally, could be used to exert pressure on people in space we don't want them to be, without having to commit enough of a force to actually defeat them in open combat.

Yes, but I thought you were describing attacking a group, rearming torps and attacking again. In general, I always envision assaults as very quick affairs, If you do not immobilize a target quickly, they will jump or otherwise escape. I don't think you will ever have time to refit torps and return to a conflict unless what you are considering is a huge fleet engagement where ships are constantly spawning into the conflict zone.

For instance, you have a cargo target--a Hull C with 3 Hornet escorts. You want to either destroy, immobilize or at least separate the escorts from the cargo target, and immobilize the Hull C. How much time do you have to do that before they will successfully flee? I think you have precious seconds, not time enough to return an Eclipse for replacing the torps.

Thing is though, 1 or 2 S9 shock torps will disable a Hull C in seconds. If you can deal with the escorts within seconds of that, just before, just after or simultaneously; then you can board the Hull and persuade the Captain to dump his cargo or give up his entire ship. If you plan to haul the cargo yourself, you may not even need to board.

I think. . .but I dunno'.

And there is the question of how to prolong a computer's down-time. Can you just spank it repeatedly with a distortion cannon? We just don't know. . .
