They also had some good animation on the pod racing crashes. I hear the studied how things break in in racing crashes and such. They didn't just explode in fireball and a shower of parts. They mostly stayed in one large piece and tumbled around getting smashed up and loosing parts.

Yup, this is very, very true, I'm a very keen car racer/racing fan, and generally what you see is peices flying off, its rare to get flame, especially in proper race cars
