Solar Eclipse

Watching the Solar Eclipse from our roof top.
Just south of Portland Oregon.

We were lucky enough to live in the path of totality.
We could see dozens of hot air balloons in the sky..what a great idea on this clear and windless morning.
It got dark but not pitch black. You could see the corona around the sun.
At the moment of totality all the birds in the trees took to flight and circled in large groups.

I'm in central Washington and we got a 97% totality. Looked pretty damn cool and I got to ignore my work for fifteen minutes. All around a good experience, but I wasn't awarded any superpowers like I had been hoping.

I'm in Broomfield, just a bit east of Boulder CO. I was hoping for more darkness. In lieu of the darkness I found myself wishing for a fleet or Aurora's to blot out the remainder of the Sun!!!!:sunglasses:

I did have my #12 welders helmet on, too bad my wife didn't take a snapshot of that. We were too busy passing the helmet back and forth.

During totality were you able to see stars around the sun?

Yes... we could see a few stars... but not like a star filled summer night... just a few.

Kennesaw, Georgia had 98% from what I heard. I went on break and stepped out and watched the Eclipse move from the left side being light, around underside, and to the right. I was the only one at work that had some viewing glasses and was pretty popular and made one guys day.

Was about 50% here in Nova Scotia, grabbed some welding masks and went out to look, got a bit darker like a cloud passing in-front. Was a decent way to waste time.

Down here in Albany, Oregon we were pretty much on the optimal totality line. Got a good minute or two of it.

My favorite part was the 360 degree sunset. So cool looking.

I grabbed the Aegis Eclipse model I made so that I could eclipse the eclipse.
