So it seems CIG is doing a VAT sale for Australians and they have handed a code out to every person so they can choose a ship with 5 year insurance. I was able to pick up a sabre with 5 year insurance and if I find more codes i'll try to pick up some of the others for people if they need them. You can use your credits btw.

5 years might as well be LTI lol I plan to play more than 5 but most people don't like to go that long. And if they do insurance the way they do rentals(only counts down if you are online) then it would last forever.

Yes it only count the in game time played ass in when you play the insurance days count down for when it is time to pay the insurance again.

So 5 year insurance most likely will last well over 10 year before you have to worry about paying insurance fee for next 5 years again,
unless you are planing to be online in game 24/7 - 365 days/year

Depends on the time tick
Read about several scenarios which vary from 4:1 to 12:1 (1 ingame day = 6h to 1 ingame day = 2h)
While the first one will usally increase the insurance time the last one will decrease it. (For the average daily player)

No it is not in game time 4:1 etc.. it is your real time game play time played as it been said couple times by CR in some videos if I can find it I will but that might take some time there are a lot of them, but think it was a interview or 10 for the chairmen video from pretty early like 2014-15..

But as been said to anything said from past is still as said unless anything said that change that.. and so far I haven't heard anything change in that.

Same as for the rented guns and such, it start counting down the clock of use every time from where you start playing then 12 hour period real time, and if you don't play beyond that it stop until then next time you play. Then clock tick down another 12 hour so as long as you play within those 12 hours no new 12 hour period will be added as count down of use unless you pass in to new period then it start a new 12 hour count down.. etc...

So for a player that play some every day it will keep counting down until you take a break and don't let it pass in to a new 12 hour period..

And it start counting from the time you start playing not from where the day start or anything else..
