Its something I saw was missing in the PTU but thought it may have been a bug at the time. Formerly you would have a small dot when using gimbal lock, to indicate the direction of travel from your mouse, this was very helpful for making minor changes to a flight path or when trying to park in a tight spot.

As of 3.0 however its gone when using gimbal lock, and while I can say I'm already adjusting to it for combat, it isn't a smooth transition and I'm basically all over the place over-steering and clipping space rocks.

Is this troubling anyone else? Was the smallest dot in the universe really so important to us?

It would be a tremendous help for us non-flightstick pilots to bring back the little dot. Alternately they could introduce some kind of directional indicator like the one in Elite. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally knocked myself out of alignment because my mouse wasn't right where it needed to be.

Wait, what do you mean by "to park in a tight spot"?
Doesn't that work the same as any other kind of "parking"?
Namely:
1. Full thrust until your landing gear just about touches the ground,
2. ...
3. then climb out of the smoking wreckage.

It's easy to remember where you parked, I always park under the pillar of smoke.
