In my country, grandmothers (who are supposed to be the best traditional cooks) have a weird habit of cooking everything for 2x or 3x the time a decent human being would. They also like to turn any kind of meat to rubber.
Please don't mistreat the meat. Think of the little animals we had to butcher to get it. Overcooking makes the little animals sad.

* I should mention that I'm from California, and anything you would want to do with a slab of meat is perfectly ok, as long as you and the slab of meat are mutually consenting adults, and there isn't any violence.
