Totally off topic, but. I don't see how the claim the US won world war II works. The Allied Nations did. Together. Team effort. But MVP was clearly the Soviets. By the time the US entered the war, the Royal Air Force had already prevailed in the Battle of Britain, and the Royal Navy had fought the battle of the Atlantic to a stalemate, that they and a bunch of British Mathematicians ultimately broke. The allied armies needed a Western Front to distract the Axis from the Eastern front. The US helped provide this distraction. This does not mean the US didn't contribute or did not make a difference, but it was a team effort.
All completely true and though the US paid much and suffered horrific casualties, the bulk of the price was paid by the Russians.

I think it is true to say though, the contest would have gone very differently without the US. Without Americans bombing ball bearing factories to stop production of jet engines the battle in the skies would have turned. And even though we all owe the Norwegians thanks for the wonderful sabotage of heavy water production that stopped the German nuke effort, that stop gap would not have lasted very long. Even a smallish delay in the end of that war and all history could have been very different. Had the Germans got the nuke and with their V2s to carry it, things would have gotten much messier still. Most people don't know how close that war really was.
