Webcam-less Head Tracking Using Smartphone

Has anyone else given this a shot? I got it working in AC with my old Galaxy Nexus. It's not accurate enough for aiming but still pretty cool taste of head tracking for those of us too poor for TrackIR, and too lazy to mess around with modding a webcam.

The only truly annoying thing I've come across is that you can't re-center the axis position inside of AC while in fullscreen mode.

I seriously considered trying this one. But I was afraid the wife would catch me with a cell phone attached to the top of my head. I mean, what would you think if you waked in and saw someone with a cell phone attached to their head?

Seriously I think the idea is genius. If I didn't already have one under the tree I would give it a go.

I picked up a PS3-Eye for 14 bucks at game stop and am using it with FaceTrackNoir and Elite. I have a rift setup for Star Citizen and would take alot to try it but it works great on Elite.

Opentrack + Android Smartphone actually works really well for me. I use it in Elite: Dangerous.

as long as it runs on Android or something compatible, and has an accelerometer in it, it would work.

Guys you can use an EDTracker. it comes at 30GBP or if you can solder a few pins just grab their pcb at 6GBP and an arduino leonardo pro micro and an MPU-9150 and you have awesome headtracking.

Actually I ve just tried it with my android smartphone. Opentrack is pretty easy to use and it works perfectly with star citizen,that's quite amazing.

I have the ED Tracker and I`m still trying to get it to work right with SC. It is very hard to fly with my head lol
