My first gaming laptop started developing weird graphics artifacts after almost a year...couldn't figure out what was going on. For some reason I decided to open up the bottom, and when I saw all the dust down there, blew it all out with canned air & vacuumed it all out. All the problems went away!
Ever since then, I try to clean out my computers at least once a year, 6-9 months preferably. It is amazing how much dust gets into things...

I just grab one of my cats and use it to dust out the inside of my case. Just to be really sure i make sure to build up a lot of static electricity on them to make sure it attracts all the dust. That's the best method right?

Yes, that is the best method, but it is really not recommended to do this after you have turned the cats into bookends.
