Last thread bump. This thing closes tomorrow. A little underwhelmed with only 7 entries.

I nominate Heroes Die by Matthew Woodring Stover. I'm a sucker for a good anti-hero story. This one is both sci fi and fantasy. The story is set in a future where actors are teleported(?) to a different world where magic exists. There they have adventures that people can watch from a first person perspective. The protagonist is a... well he's a homicidal assassin. The book plays out like an action movie and is actually pretty damn good.
