Until such time that CIG decides to let us retain items and UEC through persistence, every quarter will involve an account wipe with each major patch, pending any issues that will need an account wipe to fix any unexpected issues.

And, just because it isn't seen on the roadmap, doesn't mean it won't happen. Look at all the other unknowns that appeared in the game that were not listed.

Ass long as it is needed to wipe between patches cause changes they will do that, hence the money we use is called aUEC as in alpha test UEC currency...

And road map is more a guide line to things they are most sure they can do and not all and that can change if so needed nothing is written in stone yet.

As always they are looking to provide full persistance as soon as they can, but actually there is no date for that, mostly becouse the DB reset is also used to clear bug on the player profile side.
A couple of weeks ago they mention they are looking forward to introduce a semi-persistance where player can at leasat keep theyr gear and aUEC erned, but again, it's just an idea, no date provided.

With the most recent patch they tried to retain player data but they had to wipe it cos of the bugs., even though they were hoping that it only affected just a few players and they could handle it by manually resetting their profiles.
I expect this kinda thing to happen more regularly to weed out all the player database side bugs.
Some say (boredgamer for example) that persistence might be coming as soon as citcon, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. They might try to do that but it hasn't been done nearly enough times to get rid of all the serious bugs it can cause (like having ships spawn without modules).
This is something that I don't think they'll put on the roadmap, but it's something CR might announce a date for, and then fail to deliver on it by a year or so lol

True, but what do they mean by full persistence if we keep losing the stuff we earned in game?

I believe that is a gameplay mechanic. Drunkinly crashing into the city, shooting your mouth off at the local pub only to be killed like Greedo. Thinking your Bonnie or Clyde when the police ask you to stop.

But in all seriousness I have a feeling with in the next few releases we will start seeing full session persistence is that we will have what we had when we logged off last as well as were we where instead of always ending up at the last station bed. As for keeping the player database between patches I hope they continue to wipe them as letting the players keep their stuff for longer will make it that much more painful when they do have to wipe the player database.
