Another test successfully completed. Loaded Anvil Pisces and MPUV into Hercules M2.
There was still some space left for another MPUV or medium vehicle. MPUV could be also parked at 90 deg angle, leaving even more space.

Also, discovered personal storage on board, which could be used to store food and alcoholic beverages or mined gemstones transferred from ROC and ROC DS:

The C2 actually have a freaking amount of storage space considering that is meant to only 2 crew member (maybe 4 considering an additional crew for long travel).
Considering the amount of cargo space it also have it feels a more adeguate ship for long travels then other cpecifially build for that purpose...

Okay....So I am an old fart in PTU who has no idea on where or how to access the new C2...Could be an unusual amount of adult beverages consumed each and every night(we old road racers need our tonics :drunk: )....So is there a special access or what do we old drunk farts need to do in PTU:o7:

Such a beautiful ship, inside and out.

I have been waiting for more detail to come out to comment, but I did want to share one concern I have with the C2. It is still my choice, but it is a concern.

The C2 is max 2 crew. There are no gun stations. The copilot has control of one of the two rear turrets (dorsal or ventral) at a time, and the other is disabled. There is no way to fire both aft turrets at once. This is not true of the M2, which has a crew of 3 and a third seat on the bridge. So the C2 not only has fewer guns, it can't use all the guns it has.

First analysis with Erkul taking this to account is, you don't need enough power for all 6 guns at once. Erkul doesn't yet have the C2, but you can just switch off 4 of the M2's 8 guns.

If you put all your guns and shields on the M2 on overdrive, you need a big, hot, easy to see industrial reactor to power everything. The military upgrade is not enough, unless you want to overclock the reactor, which is not a great idea. What with the C2?

This will concern what guns and shields you choose. My standard test is with FR-86 and Revanents, and when you do this, the C2 is just like the M2 and despite half the guns, still needs either an industrial reactor or the military reactor on overdrive.

So which would I choose, C2 or M2? I hate that you can't run both turrets at the same time. Personally, I think this is the thing advocates of the Herc should whine and complain about. That's just FUBAR to build a ship that can't run all its guns at once for lack of a control station. Very FUBAR, however it means you're only splitting your pay two ways. The copilot can choose the dorsal mount when wanting the larger fire arc and the ventral gun when attacking ground targets. But. . .but why would a cargo ship attack a ground target? Personally, I think they should have left the ventral guns off and added more cargo. People would still flock to this lovely ship. Maybe that's the thing to beg CIG for--take the ventral turret off the C2 and add more cargo.

Maybe. . .

Final note, like almost all large ships, this has S2 radar and sensors. When looking for escorts, it would be wise to consider the Polaris. Especially if you're flying several Hercs to a single location, cap class radar is great to have. For single Hercs, consider the Apollo for S3 radar.

Both guns slave to the co pilot aim ridicule and attempt to fire at the same location if possible. From there the co pilot can switch between the top and bottom gun view which is a bit cumbersome as I wish there was a quick switch key combo or button. But either way I don't see the pilot guns or the co pilot guns being used often beyond attempting to take out a mantis so as to spin up the QT and get out of there. But in either the M2 or C2 it's not going to help much against agil fighters and anything bigger would eat it up.

Hercules new price seen now on upgrade store :

C2 Hercules is 400$, from 360$.

M2 Hercules is 520$, from 480$

A2 Hercules is still 700$, no price increase yet?
Holy hell now I'm really glad I upgraded one of my Starfarers to a C2.

Here i can build an M2 for 320, and even lower if i wait for more ship release this year, glad i stockpiled on those :)
I am just wondering why no price jump for the A2 yet. I am not even sure those new price were supposed to be seen now in the upgrade shop?

Ahh yes you are damn right, only C2 and M2 this patch... Good point hehe stupid me ^^
I'd not be so bold as to assume I'm right, though - $700 is a lotta clams they might just leave it at that... They won't, but they might :)

It's such a beautiful ship. So easy to get into and fly around. And I have to say as much as we are lacking game features there are times when I still get chills as its so easy to get immersed into the experience of taking off and flying from a large space port. Having the weather effects and light as you slowly cruise to altitude before warping away .

Aurora Carrier!?

I can imagine the scene now:

Some crummy org lackie "Sir, five Hucs incoming!"
Some crummy org leader "Pffft we can handle Hurcs."
Lackie: "But their cargo, sir! Scans indicate 10 Auroras!"
Leader: "Auroras?!"
*Hurc front ramps open*
Leader: "But that can only mean TEST!"
*Auroras fly forth and dog their shields with our debris*
Lackie and Leader "Aiaaiiiiieeeeeeeeeee!"
*Hurcs also crash into them*
Lackie and Leader "Yarrrrrgh!" *KABOOM*
*Montoya looks upon the destruction and knows it to be good.*

That's exactly how this is going to end!
The A2 would be far more appealing to me IF I knew there was a way to get space beer kegs the size & exterior shape of the MOAB's it drops, because then I know that I'd be TEST bombing as many TEST parties as I can 1 payload at a time whenever the supply runs low. Cheers!

If it's not worse, this ships cockpit view is just as bad as the Starfarers which makes me hope people will finally stop complaining about that :)
I keep hearing about people griping about the views in ships like these, but I enjoy flying ships like the Freelancers, Starfarers & I'm sure that I'll enjoy flying my Hercules ships. I'm an odd little furball, but at least I'm always happy to hold a beer when needed & hand it back when the TESTification is completed.

I'm thankful that I was able to upgrade my Cat to a C2 last year & that I picked up a 600i Exp to M2 CCU at the same time. Now I just need to pick up a CCU that leads from something permament in the store to the 600i Exp so that when the budget allows I can enjoy either the C2 or M2 as the situation requires. With the Ion coming out in an upcoming patch, I might upgrade something permanent to that as 1 of the steps as that will surely boost in price when it's released.
