I just got here, about to start my job actually. Tech school lasted way longer than expected, wanted, or hoped for.

That'd be a y'all, y'all.
And I still get the giggles every time I see that uniform.
You know you just want to see how good those pants make my butt look Guido.

Branch: Army
Rank: O-3
Job: Whatever the Army tells me to do, until recently a 25A.
Years: 11 years in a uniform with US Army on it.

All you scraps can just call me the Metatron of Montoya though. He thinks he knows how to yell at people, I just give it character.

This is professional army only, I suppose? Here in Europe there are still many conscription armies and men have limited choice whether or not to join the army. Here in Finland you go either to the army, civil service or prison. Your call. I chose army. Did one year tour as military police NCO in one of our fortresses in the archipelago.

It is the same here. Reached the highest NCO rank in my duty.

What are your thoughts on that system?
As a country with constant military threats from our "friendly" neighbors, it is necessary. It also helps some people grow some balls.

I know what you mean by "friendly" neighbours.
As a guy born in South Korea, all men here have to serve in the military.
Either Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines for 2-3 years compulsory.
The length of service has reduced through time though.
I think North Korean military service was like 3-5 years.

I remember US still having a permanent base in South Korea with about 30 thousand troops on standby.
The US-South Korean military drills are currently underway until April, so everyones busy at the moment.
However, besides these exercises I see the soldiers go shopping a lot and having a good time.
