ROC Sized Mining Nodes

Has anyone else been having trouble finding nodes to mine with the ROC?
I had to fly 13km away from an outpost to find a single node to mine, there were plenty prospector sized node but I feel the ROC sized node are way too rare.

They're not exactly rare (depending on your location), but there are some issues with them not properly showing up on your radar/ping so you have to get very close to see them.

I've checked it out before, just I don't know where to go on the planet it recommends.

If you're not someone inherently lucky, having a tendency to always crap out when it comes to MMO RNGs, then ROC mining is not for you (same for me, so I don't bother with it anymore, not fun enough to spend several hours flying around until I run out of hydrogen fuel, just to make less than 80k aUEC.)
