1) join a free fly arena match

2) rent/use a freelancer

3) get into one of the beds

4) log out

Now log into the universe. Make sure to power down your ship or else the “log out” contextual menu won’t appear when you get in bed.

In the end we tried everything and had to reset one time, another time we were actually able to get it "unstuck". I suggest trying EVERY single THING if you have the patience/time to spare.

Arena Commander is doing character resets (including reputation) for many people right now, so keep that in mind when attempting that workaround.

Oh also, so when you do a reset you SHOULD keep your monies, but you might lose some weapons, and weapons, equipment that were on your ship/self, sadly. And ofc, mission progression or whatever might get reset as well. That was not really an issue for us since none of us have done any missions yet.
