I thought they did away with the modules for the Bulldog series of ships, just wasn't feasible if memory serves. If when CIG re-enables stealth, the Sentinel frame gets its old signatures back, then a Sentinel frame with the Hoppy module would grant great speed and stealth to dropships. However, I have no reasons to suspect CIG will fix that part of the game. CIG has deliberately made stealth useless. I can't imagine why. Maybe they think if they screw up a game dynamic and fix it later it will seem like progress. I can't think of another reason for the general fubar nonsense concerning radar and sensors.
I can't wait for Tali Modlues. For my fleet, if I really want a dropship, I think a Hoplite Combination kit or a Retaliator Dropship module would be a better choice.

With the Cutlass Red medbed being practically useless I was considering CCUing it to a Cutlass Steel, but the price point on the Steel doesn't make sense at all (absurdly inflated for what we get with that ship...if it was getting an additional S2 shield and more health than the rest of the Cutlass line then I could maybe see it, but not in the current state.)$235?!
More like The Cutlass Robbed!
I gave it a like, then commented on another comment at the bottom by saying, "I was expecting the Steel to drop in around a WB of $150, non-WB of $175, then after the sale be approx the same prize as the Blue. Pair the 2 together for bunker bounties after you can take them alive as the troops from the Steel can subdue the criminals to be sealed inside the prisoner pods of the Blue, that then takes them to the prison & drops them off. Instead we get ... I started a thread on Spectrum about this:
Cutlass Steel Overpriced? - Star Citizen Spectrum
I'm not understanding the price of the Cutlass Steel. It is supposedly a 'Civilian Grade' Dropship, has the same size and number of shields as the rest of the Cutlass series, and the same hull...robertsspaceindustries.com
The med bed on the Red is hugely useful in terrestrial missions. The Steel has 6 additional guns. Count them--6 new guns! Think about landing scenarios. The Cutty Red bed was nerfed, can no longer respawn at it, it only heals wounds slightly worse than what the medgun can heal, but have to travel to the bed to do so (which can be quite problematic with those tier of wounds...as you commonly get knocked flat and can no longer move, and they're quite rare as you're more likely to be killed instead.)The med bed on the Red is hugely useful in terrestrial missions. The Cutty Red was, temporarily given the respawn capability. It was never intended to keep it. Respawn is, according to https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/16671-The-Shipyard-Medical-Gameplay supposed to be limited to tier one beds. Which means Hospitals, the Endeavor Hope, and a properly equipped Apollo. The Cutty Red bed was nerfed, can no longer respawn at it, it only heals wounds slightly worse than what the medgun can heal, but have to travel to the bed to do so (which can be quite problematic with those tier of wounds...as you commonly get knocked flat and can no longer move, and they're quite rare as you're more likely to be killed instead.)
Which is why I've recently started working on a CCU hop up to adding an Apollo Medivac to my fleet. When the TEST parties get a bit out of control & the bodies hit the floor, I'll do my best to have it waiting on hand to tend to those that party a bit too hard for themselves to handle. The Cutty Red was, temporarily given the respawn capability. The tier 3 bed in the Cutlass Red can stabilize any level of injury for transport to a location with the proper level of care. Even if that level of injury requires a higher tier to perform the healing.
I think you might be missing the point I was trying to make. The Cutty Red was, temporarily given the respawn capability. It was never intended to keep it. But the bed can stabilize the patient so you can transport them to a care facility. You should have to do the same thing with a Carrack or 890J in the near future. The mechanics are only in their infancy.I think you might be missing the point I was trying to make.
MOST of the injuries the medbed in the Cutty Red can treat the medgun can also treat, on the scene, without having to move them anywhere.
The injuries the Cutty Red medbed can treat that the medgun cannot are exceptionally rare, the margins on getting them are so narrow it is far more common to be killed instead. To add to that, on the rare occasions a player is afflicted with injuries the medgun cannot treat but the Cutty Red bed can they're typically immobile, making it exceptionally difficult (if not impossible, since body dragging someone that is in a downed state doesn't always work) to get them to and onto the Cutty Red medbed.
Hopefully these are things that'll be addressed with future balance passes, but as it currently stands there are other ships that're far more practical than the Cutty Red for FPS missions.
I am confident both will be addressed in future enhancements to the medical gameplay as they have been very clear on their intentions for a wounded/downstate being the norm over death/clone. And so just like ships, I am sure we will see lots of balance passes in the future as they adjust the gameplay. But this also does bring attention to the inherent risk of solo gameplay and the fact that getting knocked down in a downstate or breaking legs will make recovery a far more arduous adventure and one that would result in a higher percent of respawning than if you were with friends.Hopefully these are things that'll be addressed with future balance passes, but as it currently stands there are other ships that're far more practical than the Cutty Red for FPS missions.
No, not yet & possibly not in the future. I'm not sure what will happen in the future in that regard. Currently, the 890J & Carrack can both act as medical spawn points. So spawn ability is gone from the Carrack as well?
