Before the end of the IAE this is a friendly reminder to think about upcoming CCUs to buy here are a list or predictions i feel are going to have good increases this year. make sure to swap your credits around and buy some CCUs for your predictions.

-Crucible
-Endeavor
-Vulture
-Vulcan
-Spirit Series

I do this every year and earn huge savings i'll post how much savings i have total on my account later.

I'd start with the following ships, which are listed as under developement and likely to be released in the next 12 months (or see price rises at least):
  • Vulture (3.18)
  • Hull C (Possibly 3.18, likely by Pyro)
  • SRV (3.19/4.0?)
  • Spirit family
  • San'tok.yai
  • BMM
For some of them (Vulture in particular), this may be the last chance to get a CCU for them using credits at their current price.

Endeavor, Crucible and Genesis Starliner are the sort of really old concept ships that have a potential to spike in price, so I'd at least get those in buybacks incase they so much as assign a concept artist on them before the next IAE.
If you wanna just one of the three, then definitely Endeavor. $350 capital ship? Yeah...
Those 3 are a very long wait away from getting released though, so might need to sit on that CCU for a good long while, but I'd say those are definitely high priority CCUs to secure.

Apart from that, Hull C, Hull D can get quite a hefty bump still.
Vulture is coming soon, and it'll be something like $10 bump, I'd guestimate no more than $20.
Probably same with SRV.

i beleive hull C already had an increase recently. Alien ships do not have big increases either because there is a low demand for them. the reasons i pointed out those older ships is scope changes size changes etc. usually with ships like those they bump in price by hundreds and spikes like those usually happen before release date. Seeing as they are getting involved more suddenly with modularity the endeavor i feel is going to get a hefty bump here in a moment.(i give it 6 months)

Hmm, since you both mentioned Spirit, yeah. It's a good lineup. Probably $10 bump each, which means you get 3x $10 discount on the $100 to $200 range. Those are certainly good ships to secure.

Hull C had a price bump recently, yes. However, it still has 6.5x the cargo capacity of C2 Hercules***, priced $50 higher. Now sure, the cargo capacity isn't everything. But the difference is just too huge. I'd fully expect the Hull C to come out priced above C2 Hercules. The only other ships with more cargo capacity are other Hull ships and Javelin. Merchantman and Kraken come close though.

*** Sure, there are people who are skeptical about the cargo capacity of the Hull series. Even one wiki admin. However, the concept art of Hull C has been extremely consistent about showing off the 4,608 SCU capacity, and the ship is far along the pipeline that I doubt the concept art would be that misleading.

Well noted i might have to grab a hull C CCU then. Doesnt the C2 have bigger guns and shields though? So its not really a dedicated cargo ship its more like a cargo ship you can use and defend yourself with. the Hull series has been stated that you will need to keep it protected by escorts i'll bet its turning, speed, etc are going to be really bad and that is going to be C2's selling point.

The C2 can also land planetside while loaded, which the Hull C won't be able to do (Implementing the Hull C will require either having items that can be traded between rest stops\station, or missions to transport cargo between them, so I don't expect it in 3.18).

The Hull C's "advantage" over the C2 is both the larger cargo capacity (at the expence of only carrying the RAFT type 32 SCU, or larger, containers) and the quicker load\unload times for the cargo.

It's entirely possible that the Hull will end at, or lower, in cost than the C2, simply due to the restrictions in where it can take on and offload cargo, which restricts its "trading" utility, as well as the fact that it won't be able to transport vehicles like the C2 can.

Yes, I'm pretty sure everyone knows that Hull C/D/E can't land planet side (or in hangars). But this just means Hull C is designed to cut the most arduous part of a traditional trade run: the part where you land on planets (or in hangars). Honestly, that's not really a downside. And sure, you'd think that if you do the space lift part yourself as well, you'd maybe earn slightly more, but we've seen some station-to-station items that already were part of the most profitable trade runs. Everything is subject to tweaks though.
(As for when we're going to see it in game, there's actually already cargo you can trade between stations and rest stops. However, I'd say Hull C requires something like a very special hangar or maybe a docking port next to a cargo platform, so yeah, I'm not expecting it in 3.18 either)

Nor would I characterize this 32 SCU box thing as an "expense." 4608 divided by 32 is 144. You can still haul 144 different types of goods onboard of a Hull C at the same time. And that's assuming you can't combine different types of goods into an 32 SCU container, which might actually be possible. On a side note, the most variety I've had on a trade run so far was less than 10 different good types.

I mean, sure, anything is possible. But I'd give Hull C getting $50 to $100 flight-ready price bump far greater chances of happening than the price bump being the normal $10 to $20. And I mean, if we're speculating on CCUs that could bring good deal of benefits, then that's certainly one to speculate on. Still, if you had to choose between Hull C, Crucible and Endeavor, I'd go with Endeavor, then Crucible, then Hull C.

id give it at max 20 usd increase hull D on the other hand i could see that jumping from 50-100.
