I'm building my brother a rig with all my spare parts I have lying around. However, the motherboard I have needs a BIOS update before I can install the CPU I bought a few months back and never unboxed. Looking for any old, cheap AMD FM2/ FM2+ for a one and done fix. Not looking to spend a lot since it will only be used for a total of 20 minutes or so. So if you have any old a series or whatever lying around, hit me up and I will be forever grateful. Help and TESTie out and we'll get another member after his build is done.

I don't have one. But have you tried calling up some local computer shops and ask if they could do it for you? Or the shop where you bought it from? (I sent a mobo back once and they fixed it for me =)

I also have the motherboard for it, its an MSI, its all out of my last rig, before I did the upgrade. It all still works, and runs SC.

I might hit you up for that a10 sometime if you're going to hold onto it for a while. I did find a cheaper fix for now though.

Actually does the board post at all with the apu you have? Most more modern bios will let you use an unsupported processor to update the bios when doing it over usb. So if it at least spits out data on the screen you may be able to just update.

Sorry that couldn't help you, I would say your best bet is to check over on ebay to see if you can find what you need or if someone here has what you need. I am not sure what you need exactly (model) but I bet you can find something cheap like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-A4-4000-Richland-Dual-Core-3-2GHz-Max-Turbo-FM2-65W-AD4000OKHLBOX-Processor-/111638665459?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19fe2ed8f3
I actually picked one of these up a couple weeks ago and I'm running into the same problem. The machine starts but nothing happens. Now I'm too busy to sit around and troubleshoot. Someday it will get done. Thanks for your suggestion though

Man if I was stateside I would definitely hook you up. I have enough spare parts all younger than 4 years old to build a few machines. I just can't bring myself to throw them away.

Do you know what apu you need? If not what motherboard do you have? I could find out what you need or link its data sheet for you.
