Hi guys.
I currently have a Sabre and a CCU chain from the Sabre to the Zeus MR.

Of the Carrier Fighters, I still really like the Sabre. And my Dragonfly doesn't look like it really is going to be useful. So with an earlier sale I picked up a Cutlass Red to Prospector CCU for $10. I was thinking about, with the upcoming price increase snagging a CCU to the F-7C.

What do you think, M50, Hawk or Gladius to F-7C?

With the ILW coming in about 2.5 months, there's a chance that either of the Hawk or the Gladius could have WB sales during their manufacturer's day. Sorry if this doesn't help much, it's simply food for thought.

I was thinking the same thing, but don't recall either of those ever having a WB sale. The Sabre routinely does, which could save me another $10 and was thinking it should stay small to try to fit another one in at the low end.

I actually remember both having had WB sales during recent ILW events, I just don't remember which happened last year.

Then I guess it is Hawk, since I could take advantage of either.

The detection distance between the Sabre and Arrow is just 0.6km. I think most players consider the Arrow pretty stealthy. It is however very squishy, not as well gunned, nothing like the huge missile ensemble of the Sabre, etc. Yeah, the Sabre is a great scout. Is it though, better than two Arrows? That’s about the difference in deck space needed.

I think what we still don’t know is going to make all the difference. We don’t know how life support is going to be handled on carriers. If we knew just how many pilots could be supported, even with hot cotton swapping of bunks, aboard say an Idris, then I think we could make more confident proclamations.

I would say though, depending upon just what CIG decides to allow on the carrier ship, the Sabre on the one end, the Fury on the other and the Arrow between, are likely the three best choices for carrier use.

I’m still hoping we can put several players for every bed aboard these ships so at any given time we can field 1/5 of them. Otherwise the planning to make use of such ships it going to be absurd and eventually, not much fun.

Final thing to consider on this issue—much of what CIG decides to do will revolve around what ends up being the case concerning max ships per instance. Years ago we were told the number would max at fifty, but years later (I think two years ago now?) we had successful tests with over a hundred ships flying and fighting without issue.

So these originally low numbers affected how the Idris deck space was intended to be used, and the enhanced numbers will probably affect how the deck space will be used.

CIG puts two Gladius on an Idris, but many dozens of Furies could fit. So what are they going to let us get away with?

That's all the data me and @Brictoria have collected of recent CCU warbond sales. This isn't complete, there's been some warbond sales outside of IAE and ILW as well, but we've covered at least the major events.

I'm only seeing Gladius WB CCU there, ILW 2953. It was $10 off. But could be Hawk was outside a major event.

Stealth in the game isn't even pproperly partially implemented. For example it currently only is based on the CS value, and that is done wrong since the Hornet Ghost is stealthier than both the Sabre and the Eclipse. The Arrow isn't a stealth ship at all.

Max ships per instance makes no difference in what I want to fly. The Idris has 3 XS pads and an XXS hangar. That means 3 size 2 or "small" ships and one Argo or perhaps a different Snub.

The idea that you can pack the hangar like sardines is problematic because you can't land and takeoff like that. You also don't have room to service the ships. The other problem is the carried ships, like cargo, have mass, which is supposed to impact the physics and ability to fly the ship. The concept of "if it sits it fits" is flawed.

As for is one Sabre better than two or three arrows isn't germaine either. My wife and I can each only fly one ship at a time.

Thanks. The new Sabre is already cheaper than the one in my hangar, presuming the Hornet goes up $10 in price. The current one is $130. Because the new one is built on a referral Merlin, if the Hornet is a $10 increase, and I piched up a Red to Mole WB CCU. Without any further savings I'm at $125.
