Hi TEST, I'm absolute shit at introductions, so have some bullet points:
  • (Soon to be) Practicing Physicist
  • 315p, but soon I'll have an LTI Carrack
  • I have a nuclear reactor in my basement
  • I'm going to build an EM drive in my basement too.
  • I spend too much on personal lab equipment and whiskey
  • Woodford Reserve.
Since I'm fairly certain physicists playing SC is a trope at this point, I'll leave it at that. Hope to fly with y'all soon!

Also, to answer the questions:
Where you from stranger?
Boston
What drew you to Star Citizen?
Seems like the perfect game.
What do you look forward to most in Star Citizen? (PVP, Exploration, etc)
Exploration and corporation dynamics
What was the first game you remember playing?
Some kirby game on the NES
What other games do you play?
Lots of dota, but I play everything.
How did you first hear about Test Squadron and what convinced you to join?

Banners, and I just want a group to drink and fly with.
Picard or Kirk?
Cpt. Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise.

That is probably the best introduction we have seen to date!

You set the bar pretty high!

Welcome to TEST! Important question: which alcohol do you prefer for cooling your reactor? Does the radiation give any of them a better flavor?

Very happy to have you, Farayear. After speaking with you for a good while on Mumble you seem like a great fit, and an excellent person to spend time with in the game. If you find any valuable space artifacts I'm sure my Banu crew could handle helping you find happy homes for them, should you need it. Nuclear reactor in basement definitely qualifies you as a TESTie.

Reactor is run in bursts, so it doesn't need cooling too much; though the diffusion pump (read: Oil Tornado) has simple closed loop water cooling. I think Glenmorangie is pretty efficient for sitting and watching it though. ;)

Now I'm thinking about how much more Cherenkov radiation would be present in a cooling pool that was filled with ethyl alcohol considering its higher refractivity.

Making your own EmDrive though, that sounds badass.

I'm not sure if you are in the right place because you stated that you "spend too much on whiskey"

This is blasphemy! In TEST Squadron there is no such thing as spending too much on whiskey.

Welcome to TEST Squadron!

I WISH we got Chrerenkov radiation, we run a fusion reactor- Farnsworth-Hirsch Style D-D reactor. Though tbh I think Cherenkov wouldn't be too affected by EtOH, the color comes mostly from the mediating neutron absorption medium, lead or gadolinium, and we actually aren't using any neutron absorption, which I know is super dangerous, but whatever, we have a leaded glass observation barrier, so yea.
