when Seung mentioned rooting and cron jobs I was like huh! that's not good

Technically most of it is gibberish ;)

Layer 7 attack is a DDoS attack, the first thing you do when your service gets attacked is to take it offline and cron scripts are non existent, cron jobs are used for system tasks like scheduled backups not flipping avatars.

I lost it at the hamsters.

Edit: I get that you would take services off if you noticed but a ddos can cause/allow buffer overflow and remote code execution. If someone was in manipulating cron jobs it wouldn't be so far fetched that they could also be messing with the webserver/css etc. Cron is just a scheduler so can be used to run any script to affect any part of the system.

Damn those sneaky hamsters.

Actually I'm just a programmer and while it's true what you're saying with cron being a scheduler it would be wasted time and energy to change css/html with it, better change all links to the Goons/SA.com forums :D If an attacker has root access to cron you're in deep shit.

Aurora Crash with hamsters would've been amazing too.
