Not much for costuming & painfully socially awkward in new environments, but I'm possibly taking my family down to Kansas City around that time, so who knows. Maybe we can make a brief detour. CIG needs to do a show in KC, MO. Lots of stuff there and easily accessible. We do the MakerFaire when it rolls around. Fun sciencing!
I honestly don't know why I like Kansas City so much. Maybe its the water. KC is where my family goes on vacations, so maybe it is simply a consequence of association. Yeah... but anyway, yeah! KC is surely within my "doable" range. I wish CIG would do a con there. ooooh, like Star Citizen doing Maker Faire: using all those (goddamn) 3D printers to make model ships, and Oculus displays to showcase how immersive the game will be!
That sounds like an amazing opportunity, but I feel like I must graciously bow out of helping to run a group table at the KC MakerFaire. I may be a smart fella, but I have very little self-confidence outside my "comfort zone" of tech support with light database & .NET programming. For some reason, I seem to talk myself out of exciting, innovative stuff more often than I care to admit. Can't explain it, but basically I don't want anyone to rely on me unless it's something really small and inconsequential; so thanks, but no thanks. :)
