So, with the sale coming up, i cant decide which ship to go for. Currently I only have a Aurora LN and a M50.

Super Hornet pros:
-lots of firepower; 6 forward guns and 8 missiles
-can upgrade shield
-proven to kick the absolute crap out of everything
-my aurora doesn't lose its place as a hauler
Cons:
-ship is made of plastic, once the shields go down it has a tendency to lose weapons quickly

Freelancer pros:
- 4 Size 4 forward cannons, rear turret, optional missiles
- Can also upgrade shield
- probably has a decent amount of armor
- tons of cargo space
Cons:
- Aurora is now mostly useless, as the freelancer has both bigger guns and more cargo space

What are your opinions?

The Freelancer Max is a ship that will make you more profit and faster than a SH. You will be able to buy the SH in game using the Max fast.

Don’t be too sure about this.

While none of us want to see Star Citizen become another Eve Online, Eve has a lot to tell us about what to expect in a sandbox economy. Hauling is one of the poorest-paying occupations in the game. Prices are dictated by fierce competition among owners of the largest capacity ships. If you’re not flying one of those, you will make squat. More people own freighters for the convenience and time savings they afford to their mining or manufacturing operations than own them for full-time hauling. These casual haulers will haul your load with their excess capacity for next to nothing, which holds prices down for everyone.

The most popular way to earn money in Eve, by far, is killing NPCs. While it is not as challenging as player vs. player combat, it is more engaging than any non-combat ways of earning. If CCP were to lower the payouts for killing pirates they would face howls of rage and mass unsubscriptions. So supply and demand don’t factor into missions; CCP has to make sure anyone who wants to has plenty of NPC pirates to go after. If SC players can’t earn money for what they want to do in-game by flying around and shooting things, the game is going to fail. Expect to be able to earn as much or more in the PU with combat than you will with hauling or trade.

Good thing this is not EVE lol. But ya I dont think EVE has the AI driven economy like whats intended for AC.

If the economy doesn't respond to what players want to do, SC fails. You can't force people to grind for their in-game money - the AI has to take player preferences into account. If it moderates the extreme price fluctuations of a pure player-driven economy, great. But the devs can't simply decree that mining is worth X per hour, hauling is worth Y per hour, escort duty is worth Z per hour, etc.
