Best Advice is to always use a Driver Scrubber program before installing a brand-new card. This will wipeout not just the drivers, but any footprint they'd typically leave behind in your registries. This is the program I suggest (Hint: It's free)...

What Graphical Card are you using? When the crash happens - do you actually see some sort of error? (E.g. a BSOD or the newer windows 'Frownie Face' error) Or does the screen just flutter black and eventually reboot itself?

This happened to me as well (W/logitech C920 webcam). I used a Driver Scrubber style program to wipe out the driver entirely and reinstalled. Haven't had an issue since.
