I didn't play as much pre 4.8 either, but I haven't had as much trouble in the 4.8 patches as some. Must be a function of what you try to do. I've been able to complete a lot of cargo hauling rep grind missions without major headaches. Besides a griefer at Port Tressler, broken cargo elevators...

And the new armor but yeah, bit disappointing for 4.9. However, if it means a significant reduction in the issues introduced in 4.8 then that's okay. Getting the stability of the user experience to what it was in 4.7.x (or ideally quite a bit better) makes more sense than releasing content...

Long ago CIG talked about players being able to design their own paint schemes with hex codes, or something like that. I can't imagine that happening now, because selling ship skins is a significant source of revenue, but I'd still it if CIG find a good way for players to design their own...
