There aren't any. The game was specifically designed around all ships being specific purpose, so we would buy lots of them. Otherwise we would all buy a general purpose ship. There really is only one general purpose ship--the Conny. Seems you made a wise choice if you have no clue what you will do.

Let me suggest though, that all the coolest players, having all the most fun, doing the greatest deeds and envied by the masses, will be Privateers flying various Vanguard variants. We are the kewlest peeps that all other players secretly wish they could tie our shoes and brush our teeth for us. We rule. Oh, and we are humble about it.

the starfarer does most of the roles in game... so that is the best ship to get....

Drake Cutlass (whichever colour tickles your fancy).

Hull D - Holds a lot of beer

Legionnaire for now. Clipper when 3.0 drops.

If you have found a ship you like I would say your job on ship buying is done. For everything else buy it in game. There will be loads of changes between now and whenever release ends up being and currently unless you want a combat ship exclusively all you can go on is looks (Even the combat ships will get rebalanced).

Starter package + the ship you like most or just the starter package. Don't over spend and have buyers remorse later. I have seen it many times in the last year.




(I have gained a lot of knowledge playing ED regarding my likes and dislikes when it comes to ships. For instance i saved for a month to buy a Anaconda ( very large ship )....hated it due to running cost for upgrades and deaths. So i went back to my Asp which is a smaller much cheaper ship. Remember every ship you have will need insurance and need to be upgraded which cost $$$$.)





Personally my favorite conceptually is the Terrapin

.....But I have sexy dreams about the BMM. The only problem is like the Anaconda its a big ass ship. So i have a CCU just in case......

My point ? See what you like or what you want to do then go from there.Be smart , decisive and logical when buying pixel space ships.:money_mouth:It can be addictive...:smoking:

Btw the Constellation Andromeda is a great ship.

I see it as the most important role in the org. I can vision it: A huge sign in space glowing in black and yellow. "Your entering TEST moon specter. Please ready list on the goods your carrying and favorite beverages. we have 50,000 different pubs, find your poison." if you'r hauling beer you get free passage.

It really doesn't matter, Use your imagination. buy a ship for the things you want to do the most. Everybody owns dogfighters/explorers/Cargo ships. I bought the Genesis to transport heavy paying NPC/Players who want to fly in style (I want to fit my Genesis only with luxury seats and the best beverage.) and I bought a Herald to spy on other spacelines (Maybe make them do a "unexplained accident" in outer space.

My Must-Have Want is the Valduul Stinger.

A worthy goal! The Vanduul are notorious that they would rather blow up a ship rather than see it in the hands of any human, but of course all this does is serve to sweeten the victory, and sour defeat for those dread sub-humans when we make their rides our own!

What ship is a must buy ship? Whichever ship gets you to play the game. If someone gave me a Hull E and told me that was the only ships I could use, I'd quit. If someone forced me to have the Bengal as my only ship, I'd be sad as I accepted my duty as a TEST Squadron member to fly it into the sun. But honestly, if an Aurora gets you to play, then get an Aurora. If you absolutely need a Redeemer, then get a Redeemer.

I would not have started Star Citizen without my Reclaimer, so I guess that's my 'must have' ship.
