Bets on the Anvil Asgard’s role?

Quite a range of guesses from heavy fighter to transport in the chatter.

Will there be quantity stock-limited ships?
Yes! Each stock-limited ship is limited to 1 per account and will be available in three waves to cover as many global time zones as possible. Please note that depending on your time zone, Wave 2 and 3 may occur the next calendar day.

▲ Wave 1: 16:00 UTC (9 AM Pacific)
▲ Wave 2: 00:00 UTC (5 PM Pacific)
▲ Wave 3: 08:00 UTC (1 AM Pacific)

► Starting on May 15 (ILW Day 1): Aegis Idris-P, Aegis Javelin
► Starting on May 17 (ILW Day 3): RSI Constellation Phoenix
► Starting on May 25 (ILW Day 11): Drake Kraken, Drake Kraken Privateer

Afaik the Asgard is a Valkyrie MAX. Less of a fighter and more of a vehicles transporter.
Should be able to carry a Tonk plus crew.
Or 180 SCU cargo. Twice as much as the Varkyrie.

Valkyrie is an infantry and small vehicle transporter. It has more crew controlled gun positions, allowing for greater dispersed firepower during landing, disembarkment, and loading covering more approaches.

From what I am seeing, the Asgard will be more pilot controlled weapons, less crew controlled, but this means less protection for cargo and ship when it's being unloaded on approaching the landing zone.

It will be a big vehicle transporter, meaning the crews can either sit in the vehicles, or they can take some of the positions on the Asgard, but there won't be as much room for support troops.

THEORY CRAFTING

I suspect that in a ground assault, you will want both types of vehicles in your groups composition. One to bring in the infantry and scouts, the other to bring in the tanks, big anti-air, etc. First the infantry will come in on Valkyries to secure the site, and then the Asgards will come in to reinforce the position with heavy equipment once a secure landing zone has been established. I suspect (don't know for sure, but highly suspect) that the Asgard will also be suited to bring in small or medium base building vehicles

This has no bed, just the basics.
According to imperial Naval Doctrine (TM) Tie fighters even come without shields. TIE Interceptor types like this one at least got some protection.
Still do not expect them to work too far away from their carriers. (They only carry 9 SCU of unleaded anyway.)
So they have no need for showers or bunks.
They should carry a mini-bar though.
For troop morale, you know? :o7:

Still better options than what you get in a Hornet or an Ares. At least in the Guardian you can do SOMETHING during QT besides looking out of the window.
