Right on!

that'd be beaut of a setup.

I wasnt able to play SC for a good few years after first pledging, how long has it been for you?

Have you been a console player between or out of games entirely?

The sheer scale of the play area is unlike anything I've ever known, how did you get on? :glorious:

Built my first PC with the help of a friend. Haven’t played a PC game in about 25 years, so bit excited/nervous. First game installing right now. Any guesses which game?

Nice…..

What is the mounting solution you have for those Virgil’s? I’ve been looking for one for some time now but haven’t really found one I like….still having the joysticks sit on my table.

Thank you!

I bought a couple of pre-built gaming PC from Best Buy during my undergrad years and then transitioned to console gaming due to finances, worked for 4 years and then entered grad school. I was happy enough with console gaming until I came across SC in 2017. By 2018, i was watching SC youtubers most days, but didn’t pledge until 2024. Just couldn’t stand by any longer.

Didnt get the download completed until 8PM. My wife LOVES to create characters, so I let her customize my first. The character builder was very intuitive. They definitely need more eyebrow options ;)

So, I only had about an hour to tool around with the tutorial. My first thoughts were wow! Definitely looks better in person than on YouTube. I made it to the hanger, jumped in the ship, fired up the engines, learned my sticks didn’t work, used the keyboard to lift off an spin uncontrollably in the hanger until I cut the engines mid-air, plummeted to the ground - sticking the landing with a 9/10 score from the judges. It was past my bedtime so that was the end of that.

I need to figure out how to get the Virpil’s working and hope that helps my flying skillset a bit.

Well, I went with a Monstertech rail system to support my Virpils. Pricy as hell, but I wanted a fluid way to transition from mouse/keyboard to sticks. So far so good, but I haven’t used them long enough to recommend or not - with one hour under my belt and sticks not yet functional.

Very cool welcome to the 'Verse, you've had to wait a long time!

In the best traditions of TEST!

That's a very successful first flight!

My first interaction with my Connie saw me get stuck in the toilet as I hadn't worked out which button got you off the thing once you say down. Had to go on the old RSI forum and ask which button got you off the bog.

As you can probably tell I, and a lot of other TESTies, have grown up with the game as it has grown. It's awesome to hear your experiences as someone new in the 'Verse and you're absolutely right vids show you what's possible but until you are there you don't get that feeling of the sheer unrelenting potential.

Which landing zone did you choose? Hope it was one with ground!

Very nice. I like the look of the Monstertech stuff but they’re definitely pricey. The shipping alone to where I am….yikes!
