Fuck 2016!! A friend messaged earlier with the bad news and my hearth skipped a beat :( Never met her in person, but I've heard/read lots of stories about how an awesome person she was, and how nicely she treated the fans. I wonder how her death will affect the next episodes of the saga.

Never tried myself. I think you need to ask CS to unmelt items worth >$1.000, but you can unmelt them, and in the case of the Idris M, gift it.

In my experience, "Limited Hull" ships can certainly be unmelted. I've bought back 890's and Phoenixes (original concepts, of course, upgrades are lost after melt). And I know for a fact that Idrises can be unmelted too. You must be aware of "Limited Sales" packages tough. I.e.: the discounted...

My apologies, you're right, the Speed Demon package didn't come with LTI, only 3 years insurance, and was only available during the 2015 Anniversary Sale. In fact, as you can see here, once they fixed the package to leave the Omega out of it, the price was reduced accordingly (from $410 to $360).
