I'll be interested to hear how you like aiming with an analog stick. I'm planning on stuffing the guts from a mini trackball mouse into my joystick once I've gotten it working, for the same reason you're adding the analog stick.

I'm thinking the vanguard is unnecessary, the pic clearly shows that the vangate does all the heavy lifting, and is most suitable for picket duty.

How do you have your sticks mapped? I'm planning on doing something similar, let me know how everything goes!

I really should have emphasized the whole 'bumbling' part in that first post. I'm using the MMJoy firmware, and there isn't an obvious way to see if they're enabled, or how to enable them if they're not. Could I just ground them through a resistor, is that what the pulldowns do?
