At risk of sounding nerdy, I'm gonna have to say it's Luke's old one, or one designed like it. Vader's had the same overall design, but more of it was covered in black especially around the blade emitter. Anakin/Luke's was primarily bare steel, and had that little nubbin near the blade emitter.

Classifying it as a fighter is like classifying an Apache helicopter as a fighter; yeah, it's incredibly well-armed, it's maneuverable, and it's pretty fast, but it is entirely different from an F-22.

I tooled around a bit in story mode last night. I've personally found I prefer driving with a gamepad, but the second combat starts I drop it and switch to mouse and keyboard because aiming with a gamepad is the worst.
