Ya there seems to be a bug with the AI in the PU. Also how long the servers been up greatly impacts your ability to hit targets (ie your client says you hit the target but the servers disagree which is why damage seems so low).

Figured which is why I took it further. After all the Idris can still shoot down the Carrack.

Not sure that's an upward trade. There is going to be a lot a Carrack can do that an Idris can't as well as so many pirates looking to make a name for themselves hunting down all the helpless Idris captains.

Typically you use LOD filtering to scale the network traffic sent from the server to the clients. It will be interesting to see how this aspect of the game engine code comes along.
