I ended up not buying the RSI Galaxy

The Retaliator Bomber has the Torpedo Bays as stock. The Base has no modules included. The price difference is the price of the Torpedo Bays. The loaner for the Base is the Bomber, which is why you may be confused. The base is still in concept.

Retaliator Base. The difference there, though, was you could buy modules with LTI.

They have stated they are rethinking jump point sizes. The answer is we don't know what fits in what size jump point.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

It's still going to be Retaliator first followed by the Vanguard. Those modules are already in the game files.

    Hanger pass?

They were different code, which was quite buggy and causing issues both within the modules and the PU.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

Well the Q&A answered two questions. You do need a shipyard (Cousin Crows) to swap modules. You can travel empty, so you'll make several trips to move your base of operations, since this module won't fit in most ships.

Supposedly it was always there. :) From https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14883-Retaliator-Modules-Available

I ended up not buying the RSI Galaxy

My Retaliator fills the advertised role for the Galaxy (Unless you were looking for a refinery.) with a smaller profile and a combat capability. The Galaxy looks cool but also looks impractical for its advertised role, long term.

    re: Polaris Update Video

Like the Carrack, it, likely, falls below what the "shipyard" article defines as "minimum crew."

    re: Polaris Update Video

I'm only seeing one pair of racks on each side in the middle and one, each side, against the wall. My impression from the brochure is no hot bunking. Even at 14 that is light for a "Flagship for Militia operations."

    re: Polaris Update Video

Looking at the video again, it looks like the crew size is 10 including the aircrew and ground crew for the carried craft. That seems, like the Carrack, short handed. Commander, Pilot, 1xEngineer, 6 turrets, torpedo room operator, subcraft pilot, EW (it is a Capital Warship), Corpsman...

    re: Polaris Update Video

I like it, because my Tali can now pop it without it being able to shoot down my torps. The offensive power was supposed to be the Torps, the turrets were supposed to be, primarily, defensive. Size 5 are not defensive turrets unless we are going with another round of power creep.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The Retaliator Base, without modules, has inaccessible void space where the modules would be, according to the Q&A. Given that, I wouldn't count on being able to traverse that space without a module. Flying without a module is probably not a good idea, however it is, likely, to be one of the...

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The modules are implied to be easy to swap, not needing a shipyard. It isn't a refit. However that is a consideration.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

After looking again at the Galaxy, the module is definitely larger than the XXS hangar. Therefore the module doesn't fit in a Herc, Liberator, or Caterpillar and is significantly larger than the boxes on the exterior of any of the Hull series. How do you move the modules if you want to relocate...
