The Retaliator seems to fill that role more than the Polaris. Unload the entire payload at once, like an old PT boat instead of having 2 tubes. The Polaris, with its two tubes and size 10 torps seems to be ideally placed to deal with Retaliators though. Kind of like what WWI and Interwar...

I watched two Idiris and 4 fighters engage in a furball during the Gamescom Demo. The focus was definitely on the Idri (Idirises?) But the two Gladius and two Buccs were definitely engaged especially in the second fight.

The reason I suggested the Retaliator is it fills the same role as the Polaris in large scale combat while being versatile enough to make money outside of large scale combat. :) And it is flyable now.

You aren't happy with your dog fighting skills, but still want to be combat focused? There are other jobs in Star Citizen. :) You could get a Freelancer, Cutlass, or even Avenger Titan, Constellation or Hull series and Haul cargo. You could get a 315p, a Freelancer DUR, Aquilla or Carrack...

Eclipse, and Retaliator, carries Size 9 Torps. The Polaris carries Size 10.

You sound like an interwar Admiral. If ships are impervious to fighters, we wouldn't even have fighters. We certainly wouldn't have Carriers.

It fills the role of WWII "Torpedo Boat Destroyer" (aka Destroyer) as near as I can tell. It can engage Retaliators before they get in range of the taskforce. It only has a pair of tubes, so solo won't be as effective against point defense as Talis are but can engage as part of a strike and do...

Customer Service told me that is not the case. But since there is no ability to actually apply skins, I guess it doesn't really matter.

X4 is faster than games transfer data to video cards. Or, at least, I have yet to see a game that transfers data faster. I used to run QA for a 3D software company. Hardware is well beyond software in terms of capabilities. Games are written to a lower common denominator than top of the line...

Requires Thunderbolt 3 port. X4 PCIe is just fine, it even works with Iray rendering. In fact the Alienware Amplifier is more likely to work better with an Alienware laptop than one of the generics.

You can if you planned ahead enough when you bought it. Sager Laptops can usually upgrade the video cards. Both Alienware and Razer allow external video cards as well.

I have finally, after much fighting with the fragging thing, completed my first mission. Note I am not talking about since it was released live, but since the PTU went to Subscribers. Then shortly thereafter I ran into the usual issues. Cargo disappearing on boarding so can't be delivered...

The 30,000 series errors are server issues and there is nothing you can do about it.

Considering the state this is in now, I would really hate to see the state it was in last June/July when they couldn't release it without polishing it.

So what do you guys think is it a third larger or only a quarter?

Am I seeing things? In some of those images it looked like it had a RIO seat.
