The Ballista makes me more excited for the Tonk!

Thought just occurred to me. The Pioneer has some potential, but it's all external potential. It might need some duct tape and maybe some bailing wire during that kind of operation.

One thing to add, something I always do nowadays. Do the initial setup in Arena Commander, in the single player free flight mode. That way nobody shoots you while you're trying to figure things out. Just... because Port Olisar.

Can a Starfarer carry it? It's got a big cargo area, with a fairly wide ramp... And I thought I heard CIG talking about it but I have no idea where. BTW the list of ships that can carry a vehicle with these dimensions is going to be very short. These are big... big vehicles.

It took me a little more than 3 hours to learn, because I went to Lorville too early, before I had figured it out. The advice @Radegast74 wrote is pretty much exactly what I did. I have crashed since, every single time has been at Lorville in a Prospector. Just take it slow. I don't know...

Yep. It worked for me, and I found it totally by accident. Just don't try to learn to land with anything expensive aboard. @SoloFlyer You can land with your keyboard, even if you have a HOTAS too.

Ballista as LTI token? You can upgrade it, right?

It's an illustration. I have no idea what the price, value, or currency for insurance will be. Until CIG tell's us, nobody knows. But ships with LTI we don't have to care about the price of insurance in any currency. It's lifetime insurance. This I do know. CIG has 500 employees or so...

Ballista as LTI token? You can upgrade it, right?

Reminds me of a guy i used to know. He owned a collection agency, his motto was "It's a thrill to pay a bill"... no it's not. It's a thrill not to have the bill in the first place. Before you go trying to downplay the value of LTI, consider we don't know what the value of the insurance will...

Ballista as LTI token? You can upgrade it, right?

Well, why not get LTI if you can? One less thing to have to pay UEC for after you crash, or the game crashes, or someone decides to gank you while you're trying to land. And you might even get to pay less for the ship.

My experience exactly... until I figured it out. Video kind of sums it up for me. This is what I figured out. Don't tap your ship, your shit will crash. I went to Cellin and practiced at the research outpost, figured out how to line up and land without looking down, then went to ArcCorp...

That... has a certain ring to it... Selling bad neighbour insurance solutions might become a viable business in a year or two. Or 3. or something.

Ballista as LTI token? You can upgrade it, right?

Some upgrades you can select, but if you try to actually make the purchase, the system will give you the "Not today buddy" thing. In those cases, you have to wait, for lord knows how long. The alternative is melt and use the credit to get something else I suppose, but I don't have a lot of...

A helicopter would actually be easier. We're landing like old VTOL airframes like the old Harrier. You can't look where you're going, you need to know where you are. It takes practice. I don't recommend practicing with a loaded cargo ship... you can lose a lot of money that way. At least I...

No it's not a complete game yet ... but SC is largely what you make of it. With what they have now, I can stay interested for about a month, longer if I limit game time to just weekends. Maybe 2 months if I stretch it. I still have a major disadvantage in combat, but I'm finally starting to...

In fact, I had to do a more than 50 degree dive directly toward the ground, for an alarming amount of time. It was not consistent, I had taken off and landed 3 times previously. Also, vertical flight did not work, even 90 degrees, and I even tried a vertical role. No dice. What does work...

No more Hercules A2, Orion, or Hull-E Upgrades

The land claim system will only work in UEE space. Outside of that area, anything you build will be at high risk. Inside UEE space, your land claim, if you were successful in claiming a plot, it'll be protected. However the protection the UEE will give a player owned property is a perp gets...

CIG seems to have an interesting view of the physics, but as long as everyone gets the same altitude, it's fine. BTW the face down thing worked to get me out of hover mode. I was able to make back most of my losses in 2 trips. I should be able to buy armor by this weekend assuming the...

LOL.. that's the spirit! I crashed and burned too, quite a bit over the weekend and I can't drink right now...so I don't even have that as an excuse till next month. But I was able to figure out what I was doing wrong. If your ship is in hover mode, then it can still travel 30 m/s. That's...

hmm, that might work. I didn't try accelerating down, just up, which didn't do a thing. As soon as the ship realized it was in space, it fixed. It just took a while to get there. I think CIG needs to look at their "Distance to vacuum". On Earth for example, it's around 100,000 Feet...
