@Printimus: Base64 is incredibly useful, because it has built in error detection. That's important for data that is being transmitted. And you'll probably never really need to be able to decode it manually. probably. maybe.

    Inventory Ammo Bug : Workaround?

I've had a few questionable inventory issues in the last week, but for me it has been just oxygen and medical injections that won't stay put. I just have to put them back on though, nothing is missing that I noticed.

I have an idea... we could celebrate it during the Lunar New Year! Tuesday. Which means by some weird quirk of the clock that celebrations can start tomorrow.

Industry Events Thread 2019 - To be updated for Patch 3.5

OH crap. I slept through it, it felt good until I woke up and it was dark outside.

    Personal AV Center

... I think I'm jealous... I could use a solution like that for my home office. I don't need a desk, I need place to put 2 27 inch monitors with a place to have an accessible work surface that can let me stand or sit as I need. Hell, if it could use 3 monitors, why not... I don't need the...

My 300 series ships seem to kill servers?

It's not actually quite build it right, build it once, although that would be ideal. It just doesn't happen often that business software requirements are that static, and if you have projects that take 2 or more years to write, you can bet your booty that a number of requirements changed during...

    Personal AV Center

I get it. Not a laptop necessarily, it's about the video displays. You can buy a 49" Samsung monitor I talked about because it's cool - but it has a $1000.00 price tag. Or you can get 3 Samsung 27 inch monitors, and have 30% more screen area, for 30% less money (though you have more other...

My 300 series ships seem to kill servers?

It's natural for humans, including software developers to think that way. The logic is that we can fix the problems later when we have time. Sounds reasonable even to me, but I know better. The cost increases at some exponential rate the longer you wait, and it's not even an arbitrary...

My 300 series ships seem to kill servers?

It's unfortunate. There are a couple of principles in software development that CIG seems to be unconcerned about. The problem is in the difference between good, and good enough.

Oh Sweet Lord, I'm in love.

I'm pretty sure discovering that you forgot the porta-potty in your Cutlass ranks up there somewhere.

I can never leave my PC alone again! (update: fixed)

A couple of network engineers already posted starting points, which is OK, because we don't know quite how far down the path he got. So shitposting while we wait might be acceptable. Or something like that.

I can never leave my PC alone again! (update: fixed)

I'm sorry, this just came up and I can't get rid of it without saying it, but ... the spud rate on my potato is a little slow...

C-788 "Combine" seems to be gimbaled

I said in another thread that they needed to spend some cycles on the bugs they've left behind. They're not going to fix themselves, and the longer they wait the more complex it's going to be.

TEST Book Club - February Selection

I just finished it. I had read a little some time ago, but things happened and I had to stop for a while. I won't ruin the story for anyone by talking about it, but I just want to say that you tell a good story, and I am looking forward to you writing more.

PU Roadmap to be updated Next Week - 3.7 and 3.8!

There are quite a few bugs that I hope they tackle pretty soon. As game content progresses, some of them will become more and more difficult to fix.
